New Special Advisors

The Fitzroy Community Hospice Board has welcomed two new Special Advisors to the Board, Allison & Murray Leech. Both Allison & Murray have been contributing valuable skills, knowledge & experience to assist the Board, who have been working hard behind the scenes to finalise the hospice concept plans, organisational structure & service delivery model.

Allison completed a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Southern Queensland and began her nursing career training at the Toowoomba Hospital in General Nursing and Midwifery. Allison has worked in a variety of roles within both the public and private health sectors. As the Director of Nursing of the Toowoomba Hospice, Allison was responsible for the clinical management of the service and the successful progress of the ACHS accreditation cycle. Currently Allison is working as a Teacher/Course Coordinator for the Diploma of Nursing at Central Queensland University. Away from work, Allison is actively involved with the Anglican Church Central Queensland, in both Parish and Diocesan roles; enjoys spending time patchworking; and is developing a love for sailing.

Murray holds an engineering degree from the University of Southern Queensland. He has worked in senior roles of health and aged care within the private and public sectors, specialising in the areas of Infrastructure Asset Management, in particular Planning and Project delivery, Strategic Asset Management, Engineering and Maintenance. Currently working in the mining industry as a Reliability Engineer, Murray is transitioning to retirement over the next few years where he intends to spend more time sailing on the Queensland coast and giving some of his experience to worthy local projects.
