Beef 2021

The Fitzroy Community Hospice were fortunate to have a site at the recent Beef 2021 where we were able to engage with many members of the community to share the news of our plans to establish a hospice service in Central Queensland. These conversations confirmed the overwhelming need and support for a local hospice service, with many people having stories to tell about the end of life of a loved one.

So much support

Since putting out the call to register support, the Fitzroy Community Hospice Board have been encouraged and overwhelmed by the support this project has received from the local community. Over 750 registrations of support have been logged through the Fitzroy Community Hospice website, with many people providing wonderful words of encouragement. Community support is vital to see this much needed service become a reality in Central Queensland. If you haven’t already done so, please register your support.

Sisters of Mercy meeting

On May 18, 2021, the Fitzroy Community Hospice Board members enjoyed an afternoon tea with the Sisters of Mercy in Rockhampton, meeting to update them on the developments towards establishing the Fitzroy Community Hospice. The Sisters of Mercy have been keen supporters of this project since its inception and during this meeting, provided a very generous donation to support the ongoing efforts towards getting this project off the ground.
