We are excited to announce that Fitzroy Community Hospice has received a $10,000 grant from the Religious of Queensland Social Justice Grants 2021. Thank you to Sister Marie Riddel for applying for this grant on our behalf.
Welcome new Board members
This month, Fitzroy Community Hospice welcomed new Board member, Korin Jensen and Special Advisor to the Board, Nikki Laver. Korin is a Solicitor working in private practice in Rockhampton. Throughout her career she has predominantly worked in the areas of Commercial Law and Succession Law. Nikki is an experienced health administrator and project manager who is passionate about improving health access and outcomes for regional Queenslanders. Both Korin and Nikki are an asset to our Board and we thank them both for their support and contributions.
Clinical Advisory Sub-committee
On July 22, the Clinical Advisory Sub-committee met for the 4th time in 2021, on this occasion to review the draft Fitzroy Community Hospice architectural concept plans, contributing their clinical, nursing and medical expertise and experience to the design and requirements of the proposed building. We thank the members of the Fitzroy Community Hospice Clinical Advisory Sub-committee (Paula Ryan, Dr. Vicki Richmond, Sr Marie Riddel, Dr. Karen Quinn, Allison Leech, Dr. Nadim Cody, Dr. Kay Porche, Liz Maddocks, Lisa Pyper, Mirella Sorenson, Mandy Weir, Nikki Laver, Joanne Bell) for their ongoing support towards this project and their willingness to share their expertise in a voluntary capacity.
