September 2022 Update
The Facility Build Committee have been busily working with Tony Madden Architects to finalise building plans and artistic renditions.
August 2022 Update
Preliminary works have continued at 38 Agnes Street to prepare the site for construction. Asbestos removal has now been completed by TDA (Turner’s Demolition & Asbestos) and volunteers from the Gracemere Men’s Shed have been working hard to strip out the building.
June / July 2022 Update
Fitzroy Community Hospice became the proud owners of 38 Agnes Street, with settlement going through on the property on 30 June. Building plans to redevelop the site are in their final stages and preliminary works to prepare the site for builders has already commenced.
May 2022 Update
Fitzroy Community Hospice has come a long was in our dedicated efforts to redevelop 38 Agnes Street, Rockhampton into a Hospice facility. Australian Government capital funding of $8M remains locked-in and construction is expected to commence by the end of this year. In addition, the Hospice Board and Queensland Health are currently working towards an operational funding agreement for the onsite service.
